Quality in educational research can be compromised by individual perspectives, political agendas, the media, or allegiances to commissioning organisations. Ultimately we have a body of research of varied quality and usefulness; users of the research need skills to evaluate and fit research to their own requirements. It is also suggested that quality research will consider implications for policy-makers and practitioners as they are applying research recommendations.
